  • Body as a Projection of Self Image

Body as a Projection of Self Image

Written for the original markfollett.com and carried over in the 2026 rebuild.

This topic should be read in conjunction with the piece on food beliefs as they are similar in their overarching message that each of us creates our own reality. This means that the way you appear to yourself and others is entirely a projection of your own beliefs, fears, and love manifested into physical reality. There is no exception to this and there are no external influences on your self-image. Only internal influences from your own emotions and thoughts are relevant.

In simple and practical terms this means that the way you look, your body size and shape, the way you move, and all other physical body attributes are created by you alone. You project your own self image. Often this is done over a period of time subconsciously and subtly but any external physical unwanted manifestations are a way for your subconscious mind to communicate with your conscious mind that you have emotional problems caused by fear from holding negative beliefs in your psyche. I have been observing these manifested physical issues in others, and in myself, to attempt a diagnosis of the connection between the physical issue and the underlying emotional fear that caused it. Through my observations I have realized that all disease and all changes in body image can be linked to an emotional or spiritual block or fear. I will share some examples of my observations for context.

    Male pattern baldness

I have noticed that many men lose their hair first at the crown of the head. It occurred to me that this location coincided with the location of the crown chakra which is an energy centre of the body used for divine and spiritual connection. I have noted that men who display baldness at the crown are also very blocked and disconnected from their divine or spiritual self. There seems to be a genetic link whereby a man is likely to end up with the same baldness patterns as their father or maternal grandfather. This link with lineage is due to the passing-down of emotional fears and blocks from parents to children in their young life. Therefore the same emotional issues will manifest the same physical attributes. Going bald at the crown is your body’s way of telling you that you must work on removing your blocks to the divine and spirituality.

    A pain in the neck

Many of us have probably used the saying that someone or something is ‘a pain in the neck.’ There is quite some truth in behind the use of this saying as often the emotional pain coincides with a corresponding physical pain. In these instances clearing the emotional issue will resolve the associated physical pain too.

    Skin changes

I have noticed that because skin changes rapidly at a cellular level, outwards manifestations of inner emotions are displayed on the skin in real-time. What I mean is that changes in the skin are often fast to follow changes in emotions and beliefs. There are many types of displays that people wear openly on their skin that assist in the identification of their emotional issues caused by fear-based beliefs. Examples include moles and freckles, birthmarks, skin lesions, and cold-sores, skin colour and tone and wrinkles, of course.

In each of the examples given it is entirely possible to change the physical manifestations of the way a person looks based on changing the corresponding emotion that is caused by fear-based beliefs. Removing the fear will remove the associated physical ailment or unwanted physical manifestation. This applies without exception as we each create our own reality.

  • Emotional Wellness

    Emotional Wellness

Written for the original markfollett.com and carried over in the 2026 rebuild.

The key to all wellness is your emotional state. I cannot emphasize this point enough so I will also explain it in another way. We are completely contrived physically from our emotional state and all physical traits or ailments have their origins in your emotions.

Many people find this concept difficult to grasp so I will give a plain example. When you walk past the end of the coffee table and you hit your shin on the corner of the table you feel annoyed and embarrassed that you have made this mistake. For a few days after the event you will probably have a bruise on your leg in the location where it struck the coffee table. The reality is that your emotions about the event cause you to manifest a bruise to remind yourself and to display to others that you feel certain strong emotions about the event. I know that you will say that a bruise always occurs after hitting your shins on something because you have created minor internal bleeding under the skin. This is true but the bruise mechanism is just the way in which we are expected to naturally show and express the associated emotions.

I am certain that during your own life you have found that bruises appear and you cannot remember the ‘event’ by which it was caused physically and we dismiss this by saying to ourselves that we must have forgotten how we caused the physical bump. Instead I put this to you as an example where your emotional state alone causes the physical bruise display without any corresponding physical event. In a similar vein, often you will find that your body can receive some heavy knocks and a bruise may not always develop. I am sure you have noted times when you expected a nasty bruise but none appeared. Again I offer this example where the absence of emotional distress about the physical event is tied to the absence of a physical bruise.

This is a simple example of course and there are many more examples I could give you but you will not truly believe this concept unless you have an underlying understanding that your emotions and thoughts are responsible for the creation of your physical reality. There is no exception to this and health issues are always a good example to prove this philosophy to be true. A health problem in the physical self is always linked to an emotional problem that is being expressed. If you understand this concept then you can start to understand that your own state of wellness can be linked back to your emotional state that corresponds. This concept is quite empowering because whatever health issues you have they are able to be treated at the source by addressing the underlying emotional issue. All other treatments are merely masking the symptoms of the problem and this means that the emotional issue will find another way to display in physical terms.

There are a few simple suggestions I have for improving your emotional wellness that in turn will improve your physical form as well:

    • Practice polyphasic sleep patterns
    • Make time everyday for artistic creative outlet. This will ensure that your emotions are expressed through artistic creation and not through physical body manifestations.
    • Find a form of movement or exercise that you love to do and try to fit it into your weekly routine. This is recommended primarily to improve your emotional state so do not concentrate on the physical attributes of your body during the movement, for example tracking heart rate.
  • Food Beliefs

    Food Beliefs

Written for the original markfollett.com and carried over in the 2026 rebuild.

The common understanding in our world is ‘you are what you eat.’ This is obviously and English language saying but it is a commonly held belief in every culture around the world that food intake is seen as an external influence on a person’s health including their weight, skin condition, and internal organ function. In this situation the scientific information that we can gather would appear to give validity to the common belief that food affects human health but science only relies upon observation of what is normal so therefore a commonly held belief will always appear proven scientifically. This is because we each create our own physical reality, including our own physical form, based on our beliefs.

I am an advocate for sourcing and consuming food that has the best nutrient and energetic value possible and for this reason my diet consists only of natural organic plant and animal based foods. However it would be theoretically possible for me to eat cheap nutrient-devoid fast foods for every meal and still remain fit and healthy if I did not hold a belief that eating fast food makes me sick and gain weight. I say, ‘theoretically’ because some beliefs are hard to break, such as this one regarding food, and I am not in the habit of spending my time and energy breaking beliefs that keep me healthy and offer positive energetic properties for my body and mind.

What I am suggesting is that it is important to understand that your own beliefs surrounding food and health are causing you to manifest yourself in a particular body size, shape, and health level. It is not food itself that influences our form, only our beliefs about food. When a scientist wants to spend some time testing a theory he/she will often start with testing a commonly held belief such as ‘eating too much sugar makes you fat.’ Of course the sample of people involved in the scientific study is chosen to represent a ‘normal’ cross section of the community and when results are obtained any outlying results and dismissed as statistical anomalies. Science should be investigating the beliefs of those people who’s results fell well outside the normal population for those sampled in the experiment because there you will find people who are creating a different physical reality due to their different belief system.

How does this apply to you practically today?

When you eat your next meal be present and conscious in your own thoughts throughout the experience. You will find that your conscious thoughts will be a signpost to your own beliefs about food and health. These thoughts may include for example: ‘I put way too much sugar on my cereal, I should cut back so I don’t gain weight,’ or ‘I need a strong coffee first thing in the morning to help me wake up because I am always tired.’ There are, of course, almost infinite thoughts you may have and these examples are given so you will understand the type of thoughts you may have that would lead you to uncover your beliefs about food. Again I will point out that this exercise is important because your beliefs, betrayed by your thoughts, create your physical form.

I will offer you some good news to end this topic however. Consciously working on identifying your thoughts and uncovering your beliefs will enable you to make changes to your beliefs that will eventually correspond with a change in physical form. The method is simple but requires the reader to be mindful of their own thoughts. You have a conscious mind that can be used to change these thoughts that seem to bubble-up from the subconscious space. This is achieved by writing down the alternative thoughts you associate with a belief that better aligns with your preferred physical form. These new thoughts can then be embedded through reading them out aloud or within your head several times per day. Slowly but surely your thoughts will change your beliefs, then your beliefs will change your physical form.

  • Sleep Patterns for Channeling

    Sleep Patterns for Channeling

Written for the original markfollett.com and carried over in the 2026 rebuild.

Many people share the belief that the healthiest form of sleep pattern is to get one large block of 8 to 10 hours at night. This goes with the old saying “early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.” This method of sleep is also suggested by most modern health advocates to promote a healthy mind and body. Generally the amount of sleep in total hours per 24 hour period is being suggested by health advocates is correct, between 8 and 10 hours total.

What is not being considered by most people is that the optimum human sleep pattern is actually polyphasic which is a fancy name for having more than one block of sleep per day. Many countries around the world have used this sleep pattern for their entire cultural history and it is still often used in modern day society. This includes Spanish and Italian cultures in the habit of taking an afternoon sleep after lunch for a few hours. Our family refers-to our day sleep as a siesta after the Spanish name given to sleeping in this way.

The ideal pattern of sleep for an adult is eight hours sleep total taken in two blocks of four hours or a block of three plus a block of five. My personal favourite routine is to sleep from 11pm to 4am and 3pm to 6pm. Unfortunately I am only able to use this pattern on the weekend so during the week I sleep much less by using the alternate pattern of 11pm to 4am and 7pm to 8pm for a total block of 6 hours sleep.

The important aspect is to never sleep for longer than five hours in one block. It is also preferable to break up the total waking hours as evenly as possible with your current work circumstances. There are many benefits to be gained by using this alternative pattern as further described.

Increased ability for psychic and channeled work

I have noticed that by staying in polyphasic sleep patterns consistently I am better attuned to receive psychic messages and spiritual suggestions. There are times during this sleep cycle when I feel groggy, like after my one hour catch-up nap, and these times are the best for receiving accurate psychic messages because the ego mind is less equipped to get involved and distort the message through a fear filter. Your overall body and mind stress levels are lower also and this contributes to being better open to etheric connection.

    Decreased need for nutrient supplementation

As part of a normal busy stressful lifestyle it is almost impossible to obtain correct levels of some nutrients entirely from food. For example I have historically needed zinc, b-group vitamins, and cod liver oil on a daily basis to supplement my usual healthy dietary intake of nutrient dense foods. I found that when I changed to polyphasic sleep patterns my need for these supplements disappeared and I now maintain healthy levels of body nutrients by obtaining the required levels from my food alone. I believe there are two factors at play here. Firstly, I am less prone to stress each day and therefore burn through less of my nutrient stores. There is then a balance created between the nutrient input levels from food and my body’s usage levels. Secondly, the use of nutrient supplementation is not required because my body has adequate time to rest and digest food properly hence I obtain all the available nutrients through the proper digestive process.

Increased overall brain function and cognition

Using a polyphasic sleep pattern and not sleeping more than 5 hours in one block has significantly reduced brain fogginess and improved my overall brain function and cognition in everyday life and work scenarios. This has meant that I sleep less hours overall compared with my old sleep patterns but this has actually increased my ability to concentrate and solve problems.

    Heightened emotional awareness

In a similar way to what I have described above for brain function, a change to polyphasic sleep has led me to a better connection with my emotional heart function as well. I have combined my new sleep patterns with the use of essential oils to open up my emotional availability to my loved family and friends whilst also being able to clearly see and cut negative emotional feelings and ties to others where appropriate.
